Since 1977, Safe Passage has stood as North Idaho's leading resource for survivors of violence. â€‹We provide 24-hour free and confidential support for adults and children navigating domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking.

How we can help

At Safe Passage, we believe everyone deserves a life free from fear. Whether you are navigating the trauma of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking,  or child abuse, you don't have to face it alone.

24/7 Helpline

We provide immediate advocacy, safety planning, and crisis intervention for survivors. Individuals can call the 24 hour helpline open 365 days a year for immediate help.

Hospital Response

Our trained hospital response advocates provide 24/7 in-person support at Kootenai Hospital for individuals impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault.

Safe Shelter

We provide 30-day emergency and 90- day extended shelter to survivors and their children in imminent danger. Food, necessities, case management, and support are available 24-hours a day.

Children’s Advocacy Center

Safe Passage's Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) offers a multidisciplinary response to child abuse allegations and help for treating trauma. 

Housing Support

We provide help accessing longer-term housing, finding housing options, completing the voucher process, and emergency housing financial assistance.

Court Advocacy

Our court advocates can aid survivors of domestic and sexual violence assisting also with protection orders, providing legal referrals, and participating in the Kootenai County domestic abuse court.

Community Programs

Safe Passage provides prevention education to reduce violence in our community through individual and group programs that teach ways to recognize and respond to domestic abuse, sexual assault, crisis, and more. 

Counseling

Our licensed counselors on staff offer individual domestic or sexual violence counseling at no cost to clients. Life skills and peer support groups are also offered.

Youth Prevention

Our youth-focused outreach brings age-appropriate, engaging presentations directly into North Idaho schools and youth organizations to build a foundation of safety and respect.

Make an Impact

Make a donation to help support our programs. Our donations support the vital services we provide to survivors through education, outreach, advocacy, and more. We accept donations from cash, to clothing items, and personal care.
